The H3C Wireless Access Controller Module can be used to manage 802.11a/b/g/n Access Points. In 802.11n mode, the H3C 802.11n-based AP can provide wireless access rates equivalent to six times the wireless access rates provided by a conventional 802.11a/b/g network, enlarging coverage and deploying wireless multimedia applications. To ensure the seamless transmission of data, H3C Wireless Access Controllers support both centralized and distributed data forwarding. Combining the advantages of both techniques, users can configure local forwarding for data traffic from clients with a specified SSID, VLAN, or SSID+VLAN and centralized forwarding for data traffic from other clients. This architecture effectively separates control traffic from data traffic that reduces or eliminates potential AC processing performance bottlenecks. The H3C Wireless Access Controller Module supports intelligent load balancing technology that optimizes wireless capacity. When the AC discovers that the load of the AP exceeds the preset threshold value, it will calculate automatically whether a user has another AP with a light load in the surrounding area. If there is, the AP will reject the request of the user for association. The user will then access the AP with the lighter load. However, if the wireless user is not within the overlapping area of the AP, the traditional load balancing mode will usually result in network connection failure and, eventually, mistaken balancing. H3C load balancing technology ensures that the AP load balancing function is enabled only for the wireless user within the AP overlapping area, effectively avoiding mistaken load balancing altogether.
